About the Yolo County Video Game Design Club
The Yolo County Video Game Design Club is a hands-on program where students explore the creative and technical aspects of game development. Open to all skill levels, the club provides opportunities to learn game design, coding, digital art, 3D modeling, animation, sound design, and interactive storytelling using a curated blend of industry-standard software tailored to each club, including Unreal Engine, GameMaker Studio, GDevelop, Blender, Piskel, Aseprite, and Adobe Creative Suite.
By the end of the program, participants will have developed a playable game or a variety of polished game assets—work that can be showcased in a portfolio, college application, or future job opportunity.

Our Video Game Design Club can serve schools and learning programs throughout the county.
We partner directly with individual campuses and organizations to offer structured, on-site video game design clubs. Programs are designed in collaboration with each school and adapted to fit their schedule, student age range (elementary through high school), and available technology. Whether a site has a dedicated computer lab with gaming-capable PCs or uses Chromebooks, each club is tailored to work with the hardware and software already in place—using industry-standard tools when available and browser-based platforms when needed.
In addition, we also offer homeschool services for students and families seeking one-on-one instruction. These sessions take place in the student’s home, where we help transform existing hardware and software into a functional game-development workstation and provide individualized guidance based on the student’s interests and experience level.
Schools and organizations interested in hosting a regular on-site video game design club are encouraged to reach out to begin the conversation. Anyone in Yolo County is welcome to reach out for 1-1 tutoring.
